Join us for a unique and dynamic online discussion on Public Services Day, 23 June 2022 in a side event to the 50th session of the Human Rights Council to reflect on the crucial role of public services in tackling systemic and underlying factors that underpin gender inequality.<\/span><\/p>\n

This event builds on the\u00a0<\/span>successful parallel event<\/span><\/a>\u00a0to the Generation Equality Forum organised last year on gender-transformative public care services, attended by over 100 participants. This year, the webinar will convene a group of women policymakers, experts and representatives of civil society organisations to explore what gender-transformative public services are and what is required for this approach to be achieved in practice.<\/span><\/p>\n

The escalating global environmental and inequalities crises, compounded by the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, have further exposed and exacerbated the existing gender inequalities and have added to the factors that put women\u2019s human rights at risk. In the face of these structural and emerging challenges, public services can play a decisive role in the transformation of the asymmetrical and unjust power relations between women and men.<\/span><\/p>\n
