Ahead of this conference,\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.aabaglobal.org\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the Association for Accountancy &amp; Business Affairs<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">,\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.city.ac.uk\/social-sciences\/international-politics\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">City University<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and the Tax Justice Network, are organising a research-led workshop\u00a0on corruption and the role of tax havens.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">How: Open-minded debate and discussion to generate\u00a0ideas and proposals to inform and shape the political initiatives and campaigns already under way<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Topics: The role of secrecy jurisdictions in corrupting the entire global financial system. The role of professional \u2018enablers\u2019 in constructing and protecting the system. How\u00a0secrecy jurisdictions can provide a criminogenic interface facilitating corruption and corrupting activities,\u00a0and illicit financial flows.\u00a0Other related themes are likely to emerge as the workshop programme develops ahead of the global summit.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Who: Researchers, academics, journalists, policy staff of civil society organisations, activists, consultants and professionals, elected politicians and\/or their researchers, and government or international organisation officials.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There will be a small charge for attendance at the Workshop.
