The Tax Justice Network, the FACT Coalition, and Transparency International will host a launch event for the 2018 global Financial Secrecy Index on\u00a0January 30th at 12pm.\u00a0The Financial Secrecy Index ranks jurisdictions according to their secrecy and the scale of their offshore financial activities. The last time the Index was launched, in November 2015, the United States was\u00a0<\/span>ranked the 3rd largest secrecy jurisdiction<\/span><\/a>. Come find out what, if anything, has changed.<\/span><\/p>\n

One of the co-authors of the index, Andres Knobel of the Tax Justice Network, will\u00a0present the latest findings. A panel of experts will delve deeper into the issue’s impacts in the U.S. and abroad, suggest policy remedies, and look at how the newly enacted U.S. tax overhaul could impact the status of the U.S. as a tax haven.<\/span><\/p>\n
