{"id":7826,"date":"2022-08-21T15:07:18","date_gmt":"2022-08-21T15:07:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/globaltaxjustice.org\/?post_type=event&#038;p=7826"},"modified":"2022-08-21T15:07:18","modified_gmt":"2022-08-21T15:07:18","slug":"zambia-alternative-mining-indaba-our-zambia-our-minerals-moving-towards-meaning-meaningful-transparency-and-accountability","status":"publish","type":"event","link":"https:\/\/globaltaxjustice.org\/es\/eventos\/zambia-alternative-mining-indaba-our-zambia-our-minerals-moving-towards-meaning-meaningful-transparency-and-accountability\/","title":{"rendered":"Zambia Alternative Mining Indaba: \u00abOur Zambia, Our Minerals, Moving Towards Meaning Meaningful Transparency and Accountability\u00bb"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Publish What You Pay Zambia\u00a0 in conjunction with the Zambia Conference for Catholic Bishops \u00a0(ZCCB) ,Council of Churches in\u00a0Zambia (CCZ) Center for Trade Policy and Development (CTPD), Action Aid Zambia, Diakonia Zambia, Joint Country Programme (NCA,DCA, CA), Jesuit Centre for Theological Reflection (JCTR), Oxfam Zambia, Transparency International Zambia (TIZ) among other civil society organisations in Zambia would like to extend an official invitation for you to attend and participate in the Zambia Alternative Mining Indaba from the 11<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">th<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0to\u00a0 the 13<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">th\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">of June, 2019 to be held at Cresta Golf View Hotel in Lusaka.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The theme of the 2019 ZAMI is\u00a0<\/span><b>\u00abOur Zambia, Our Minerals, Moving Towards Meaning Meaningful Transparency and Accountability\u00bb<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0The ZAMI aims to\u00a0create a policy and legislative dialogue space where stakeholders will propose legislative and policy changes that will see the country benefit from natural resource extraction.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This goal will be achieved by holding parallel workshops on topical issues that will inform policy and legislative changes. The topical issues will be informed by local community testimonies, regional mining indabas discussions, research papers and academic student debates.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The event will also embrace views, lessons and experiences from participants from the African region as well as international issues around natural resource governance.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Kindly note that Publish What You Pay Zambia will not meet any logistical cost related to travel and accommodation.
