Between July 6th and August 14th they are conducting a public consultation on\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/fairtaxmark.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Essential-elements-of-Global-Corp-Standards-for-Resp-Tax-Conduct-FINAL.pdf\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">four &#8216;essential elements&#8217;<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0that will form the basis for new global standards that can be applied to businesses from any jurisdiction. These elements are:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">public country-by-country reporting of financial results such as sales, profits and taxes paid;\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">a binding public policy undertaking not to use tax havens artificially or to pursue tax avoidance;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">disclosure of beneficial owners and persons of significant control;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">independent assurance from outside of the big accountancy firms.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">They are interested to hear insights about why a particular element might or might not work well in different countries with different rules and cultures.\u00a0They are seeking feedback in two ways:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1) Structured questions in an online questionnaire on Fair Tax Mark&#8217;s\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/fairtaxmark.net\/consultation-on-global-corporate-standards-for-responsible-tax-conduct\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">website here<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2) Attending one of four webinars which will be held remotely on Zoom.\u00a0Current planned sessions are as follows:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Africa and Middle East Focus.\u00a0 Monday 10th August. 11.00am to 12.30pm BST.\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/zoom.us\/meeting\/register\/tJwscO2prTktH920SMSyWvYUo_aH9_9aS0k6\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Register here<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">European Focus.
