Negotiations for a UN Framework Convention on International Tax Cooperation (UN Tax Convention) and two early protocols began with two sessions in August 2025. Now, the third session of negotiations taking place November 10th to 19th are expected to dive into the text of the legally-binding commitments of the Framework Convention.
In a webinar held by the Global Alliance for Tax Justice and its members Tax and Fiscal Justice Asia (TAFJA), Red de Justicia Fiscal de América Latina y el Caribe (RJFALC), and Tax Justice Network Africa (TJNA), highlighted what is at stake and what to expect in Nairobi. Panelists discussed what to expect for each of the three workstreams of the negotiations, on the Framework Convention and two early protocols, as well as regional perspectives on the negotiations.
