About the event/Sobre el evento:
The members of the Global Alliance for Tax Justice’s Tax & Gender Working Group will co-organise a parallel event at the 65th session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (UNCSW65). The speakers will present a bold new feminist taxation framework centring women’s full participation and decision-making, designed to ensure that all tax systems tax women equally in the realisation of substantive gender equality. The rollback of women’s rights during the COVID-19 pandemic is losing decades of hard-won progress toward increased gender equality. Feminist perspectives on tax systems also illuminate how fiscal space can be prioritised to fund policies accelerating the attainment of women’s equality.
Los miembros del Grupo de Trabajo de Tributación y Género de la Alianza Global por la Justicia Fiscal organizarán un evento paralelo en la 65ª sesión de la Comisión sobre la Condición Jurídica y Social de la Mujer de las Naciones Unidas (UNCSW65). Las panelistas presentarán un nuevo y audaz marco impositivo feminista centrado en la plena participación y toma de decisiones de las mujeres, diseñado para garantizar que todos los sistemas tributarios funcionen para la realización de la igualdad de género sustantiva. El retroceso de los derechos de las mujeres durante la pandemia de COVID-19 representa la pérdida de décadas de progreso duramente ganado hacia una mayor igualdad de género. Las perspectivas feministas sobre los sistemas tributarios también nos enseñan cómo se puede priorizar el espacio fiscal para financiar políticas que aceleren el logro de la igualdad de género.
