After six years with the Global Alliance for Tax Justice (GATJ), Caroline Othim has stepped down from the role of Global Policy Advocacy and Campaigns Coordinator, in which she was pivotal for the growth and impactfulness of our work in tax and gender. This is and will continue to be one of the key priorities of GATJ, and Âurea Mouzinho, who joined the organisation in June this year, will take over the programme leadership, as well as our Tax and Gender Working Group coordination.

We deeply appreciate Othim’s contribution to the global gender and tax justice movement and wish the best in her future endeavours. We are also excited to welcome Mouzinho to this position, as she for sure will lead the programme and the working group to great achievements with her feminist background and commitment. We are confident that the member and partner organisations who worked closely with Caroline over the years will also welcome Mouzinho and continue their collaboration in the pursuit of shared objectives with the same spirit of solidarity.

This announcement comes after a week of retreat, to ensure a smooth transition. This was also the first time that the Secretariat met in person since the pandemic and an unique opportunity to strategise for the next milestones we want to achieve in our collective fight for global tax justice.
