On July 11, the Global Alliance for Tax Justice (GATJ) and over 100 civil society organizations and trade unions shared three joint submissions to provide input to the Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee (INC) on the United Nations Framework Convention on International Tax Cooperation.

The three submissions are in response to draft issue notes by the INC on the three negotiating workstreams: Workstream I on the framework convention; Workstream II on the first early protocol, taxation of income derived from the provision of cross-border services in an increasingly digitalized and globalized economy; and Workstream III on the second early protocol, prevention and resolution of tax disputes. This comes in preparation of the INC’s first and second sessions which will take place at the UN in New York from August 4 – 15.

Find the three joint submissions below. All inputs by stakeholders as well as the draft issue notes are available here.

GATJ facilitates the Civil Society Financing for Development (CS FfD) Mechanism’s Tax Justice Workstream with the support of one of its members, the European Network on Debt and Development (Eurodad). GATJ is a Southern-led global coalition in the tax justice movement.
