Global
UN Tax Convention Negotiations
From February 2nd to 13th, the 4th session of negotiations for the UN Framework Convention on International Tax Cooperation (UN Tax Convention) took place in New York. The session continued to build momentum for what could become a historic “Trillion Dollar Treaty.” The negotiations have the potential to fix the global tax rules and deliver urgently needed finance for public services, development, climate action, human rights, and gender equality.
Throughout the session, GATJ brought together civil society and trade unions to act as a collective voice in the negotiations through joint interventions, coordination meetings, a FfD Chronicle, and a civil society side event.

Tax Justice for the Human Right to Care

From March 2nd to 8th, the Global Days of Action on Tax Justice for Women’s Rights will take place under the banner “Tax Justice for the Human Right to Care.” This year’s campaign will mark the 10th anniversary of the campaign as well as the launch of the 3rd Framing Feminist Taxation Guide.
GATJ invites civil society organisations, activists, and academics to submit activities for the campaign programme by February 25th. Learn more about the campaign and register your activity here.
