From 3 to 5 July, the Global Alliance for Tax Justice (GATJ) will join the Fight Inequality Alliance (FIA)’s Global Gathering – a convening of members, civil society organisations, social movements, and artists, who are part of the global movement against inequality. Riska Koopman, policy advocacy and campaigns coordinator at GATJ, will represent the alliance, bringing the tax justice perspectives to the discussions.
“We are gathering as we continue to counter the many systemic and interlinked inequality struggles we face across the world, and take better collective steps to counter the concentration of wealth and power in the hands of the few. We will come together as a movement to energise and recharge, share and learn from each other and plan together as we chart our path for the next stages in our fight against inequality,” said the FIA team.
With a hybrid model, the in-person activities will take place in Kathmandu (Nepal), and members will also be able to attend the gathering virtually. Individuals and organisations interested in participating in the global movement can join the activities below.
