The EU Office of the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung and the Independent Commission for the Reform of International Corporate Taxation is hosting an experts’ seminar on “Tackling Tax Competition: the Role of the EU” in Brussels, on Wednesday, November 16th.

In its 2015 Declaration, the Independent Commission for the Reform of International Corporate Taxation (ICRICT) (www.icrict.org) applauded the European Commission’s work on a Common Consolidated Corporate Tax Base and called on all governments to tax multinationals as single firms. This seminar will focus on ICRICT’s most recent report, entitled “Four Ways to Tackle Tax Competition” and discuss the global implications of proposed EU tax reforms, including the recently released CCTB proposal, and consider what other measures might be needed to curb international tax competition and corporate tax abuses.

This event is for representatives of EU institutions, member states as well as trade unions and civil society organisations.

Please request participation by Friday, November 11, 2016.
