Financing for Development

From April 20th to 24th, the 2026 Financing for Development (FfD) Forum took place at the UN in New York. The forum was a key space to follow-up after the 2025 4th FfD Conference. GATJ Executive Coordinator Dr. Dereje Alemayehu spoke about the need for FfD to address systemic inequities and rebuild trust in multilateralism. Throughout the week, Dr. Alemayehu emphasized that the negotiations for a UN Framework Convention on International Tax Cooperation are a once-in-a-century opportunity, central to advancing domestic resource mobilization.
